Marlboro G-40R

This Marlboro Sound-Works solid state combo amplifier seems to be made in cooperation with Hohner International; German
company (best known for their harmonicas and accordions) which still makes musical instruments nowadays. I don't know how Marlboro and Hohner were connected, but there seem to be quite a few of these out there. The Marlboro badge is different from the classic one and there is also a ''Hohner International'' badge at the bottom of the cabinet. But the writing on the back sticker, the speaker and front control plate says ''Made in U.S.A.''.

I would like to thank Thomas, who sent me these lovely pictures.
They are clickable so the  amplifier can be seen in full detail!

Specifications:

- Model no. G-40R
- 3 Inputs: bright, normal, mellow
- Controls: volume, bass, treble, reverb and tremolo
- 240 volts, 50 Hz
- input watts: 37 W
- 12'' Marlboro special design M12Q  speaker
- Made in U.S.A.

  1. Hi. Could any good soul help me out. I have a Marlboro G40R amp but gives out no sound. I took it to a repair shop but without the schematic diagram the repair is very difficult. I am unable to locate the producer to request schematic diagram.

    1. Hi there! You could try to replace the fuse cover button with this vintage style one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NOS-Vintage-Made-in-Japan-Fuse-Holder-Bayonet-style-for-tube-amplifier-/122342281002?hash=item1c7c2b0f2a:g:fe0AAOSwjDZYbtL0
It looks similar but it's not 100% sure. For the fuse, it should be a 250vac,2.5A, 6.3x32mm quick blow type

  4. What does the FUSE button do? Mine rotates very slowly and I can't notice the difference in sound.

    1. It's not a button. There should be a fuse inside if you remove the cover.
